Established
in 1996, we have prepared a special place for you, located by the
Mumbul river side overlooking 20 meter of endlessly flowing waterfall,
it is a spiritual healing place where you can wash away your stress,
heal your pain, and cure disease.
Hundreds of
years ago a holy man from India ventured forth from his homeland
on a vision quest. Traveling long and far, Rsi Markendeya eventually
was drawn to Ubud – the source of the Rsi’s Vision; a
great seat of spiritual power.
Where the rivers
merge in Campuhan, the great sage came to rest and began to disseminate
the Hindu teaching, wisely adapting them to the more powerful nature
forces and animistic way of Balinese.
R’si Markendeya
saw Ubud as the spiritual heart of Bali. The most appropriate place
for healing. The balance point between the sea and the sacred mountain.
Before the holy
man continued his journey he named the area "Ubad" which
means wellness, health or medicine in the Balinese language. Over
the centuries the name changed slightly to "Ubud", the
name we use today for this area.
